Welcome to Science Caddie, a Golf Science Education company based in the United Kingdom. My name is Daniel Thompson and I am an experienced Lecturer in Sports and Exercise Science, a former tutor for The PGA (UK), and the owner of Science Caddie. My mission is to help professional golfers understand the science of golf, through live online webinars and free golf science content.
On the 27th and 28th of March, I am delivering the 'Generating Power in the Golf Swing' webinar series exclusively to members of the Central New York PGA Section. What is this course about?
This course is focused on the Biomechanics of the Big Hitters, discussing the key biomechanical variables that are linked to the generation of clubhead speed. As part of this discussion, we will highlight the differences that exist between higher skilled and less skilled golfers, and show how such variables are analysed using 3D motion capture and force plates.
Day 1- 27th of March 10-11:30am EDT

Focuses on the importance of distance, exploring PGA tour data and academic research, as well as, discussing the key determinants of driving distance.

We will then focus on the biomechanics that are linked to the generation of clubhead speed. Discussing X-Factor and X-Factor Stretch.

Day 2- 28th of March- 10-11:30am EDT

We continue the discussion of the biomechanics that are linked to the generation of clubhead speed. Discussing Timing of Wrist Break, Timing of Max Clubhead Speed, Ground Reaction Forces and Kinematic Sequencing.
